Café Gabie in Hongdae – a unique space for good coffee, company and work

Finding a café in Korea that is open before 9:00 am is very difficult. Café Gabie is open 24/7! Maybe that’s no coincidence, being so close to Hongik University, Korea’s leading university for creative professions. Wikipedia writes: “…widely regarded as the best architecture and art school in rivalry with Seoul National University.”

Creative types often are night-shifters – coffee helps. Two students I met at the café just came in from Japan and fell into a deep sleep at their table.

Café Gabie’s owner himself is behind the counter, taking care of good customer service.

They are so welcoming! The gentleman with the grey hair is the owner.

I like the ambience at Gabie, especially upstairs. Super-fast WIFI is a given in Korea. Here is Café Gabie’s address: 147-1 Wausan-ro, Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul
