The Famous Lamb in Hongdae – a café in its own class! Korean kindness abounds.

Cafés open late in the morning in Korea – people’s rhythms are just different. So I found Jass Café that was open early on Sunday. The Barista there is very cool – not only is her English excellent (she doesn’t believe me OMG), but we had a very inspiring conversation. And THEN she pointed me to The Famous Lamb for a brunch-like breakfast. Let the pictures speak for themselves! The bread and pastry are done by masters, and people are very friendly.

During my second visit in as many days (Germans are habitual :-), I experienced another example of JEONG, the Korean way of kindness: I wanted to buy a ticket for the Layered concert at West Bridge, where the jazz-funk group A-FUZZ plays on January 31 (the bass player provides an awesome sound carpet). But the ticket site was Korean only. My neighbour at The Famous Lamb got me the ticket – using her credit card! She is a freelance web developer who also does trainings and studies visual communication design at Hongik university. I like free spirits!

So delightful!
