For me a café is to stop, take a step back – and yet take a step forward. It is amazing what ambiance café owners are creating. But even more important for me is that their soul is in it: If I become a regular customer, it’s the familiarity, the conversations, the caring about each other. My friend Insu is a regular at Vroom Vroom Café: So we met his wife and his one-year-old son, who happens to have the same birthday as I (Jan. 16, just a few short years earlier….). As a treat, the owner gave us a free taste of his newest latte creation. Hmmm!
What felt so good at Coffee Fairy was the calm atmosphere and the beautiful interior. Mom and son behind the counter made sure I had a good experience.

I have travelled to 31 countries so far. What exploring means to me: Venture into the Yukon backcountry by snowmobile - arriving at spectacular vistas with my buddy; enjoying world cafés (non-franchise please!) and the interesting conversations that blossom there; collaborating with free spirits. I feel attracted to people who truly care and have a backbone. Accountability and life-long learning are important to me. Political correctness is not my thing.
My interests include all things aviation, the global economy, entrepreneurship, drumming (funky grooves!), winter photography and Korea. I’m passionate about mentoring and coaching others. I am tutoring professionals from around the globe in conversational German and English.
